New York Streets

A candy bar wrapper swirls round and round
The wind is starting to whip
The rain is falling steady now
Like the beating of my heart
People rush by
Their umbrellas leading the charge
Scurrying from the slight chill
Taxis honk their horns and cars keep speeding by
I take your hand and look at you
That twinkle in your eye
We walk the avenues slowly
Enjoying the droplets on our skin
For on these New York streets
We walk and kiss
Letting the beauty of it all sink in
